Tenant Improvements
San Francisco

Project Description:

This project involved the enclosure of the mechanical roof deck, including new concrete roof and aluminum curtain walls, relocation of mechanical and elevator systems, and conversion into a new high-ceiling class-A office space. This classic mid-century modern 1959 building is a registered historic resource with the City of San Francisco due to its unique use of a stainless steel facade, which required a historic resource evaluation to be approved for the new exterior curtain wall. The configuration of the new curtain wall, including airfoil shade fins, was intended to evoke the original stainless steel louvers of the former mechanical roof deck, and the former “vice president’s rooftop penthouse apartment” was converted into a mechanical space without alteration of the original design.
